01Quick start & account setup
Get your money management going in under two minutes:
- Sign up on the web portalGo to app.myperibadi.com and create a free account with your email.
- Set up your main walletThe portal creates a starter wallet (e.g. Cash). Add bank accounts (Maybank, CIMB) or e-wallets (Touch 'n Go) in the Wallets tab.
- Set a monthly budgetEnter your monthly spending target in the Budget tab so the bot can warn you when you're getting close to the limit.
Consider signing up with a nickname so your personal details stay fully protected.
02Linking WhatsApp & Telegram
MyPeribadi connects your devices using secure authentication tokens — it never needs your WhatsApp password.
A. WhatsApp (QR scan)
- Open the MyPeribadi web portal and click the Connect Account (Connector) tab.
- On your phone, open WhatsApp › menu (⋮) or Settings › Linked Devices.
- Tap Link a Device and scan the QR code shown in the portal.
- The bot activates immediately and shows the status Connected.
B. Telegram (1-click)
- In the Connect Account tab, click the Telegram icon.
- Press Connect Telegram Bot to open the official MyPeribadi bot.
- Send
/startin Telegram to sync with your ledger.
03Self-chat & group use
You're in full control of where and how you log spending:
- Self-chat: open the chat with your own number in WhatsApp (“Message yourself”) or the Telegram bot. Any spending message (e.g.
kopi 8) is processed as a transaction straight away. - Family or household groups: add the bot number to a group you've allowed. So it doesn't interrupt normal conversation, the bot only responds to messages that start with the prefix
bd(e.g.bd barang dapur 45).

Log an expense
Format: [item] [amount]
The bot reads the amount and matches the category automatically.

Makes sure the expense is deducted from the right account or card.

MyPeribadi maps the words (keywords) in your message to a spending category. Default examples:

You can add or change keywords to match how you write in the Categories tab of the portal.
06Receipts, GPS location & vehicles
Use the advanced features for more detailed tracking:
- Save receipt images: photograph a paper receipt and send it to the bot. It's stored in the portal's receipt archive and can be linked to a transaction.
- GPS location tag (@here): share a location pin in WhatsApp or Telegram, then send
lunch 15 @hereto pin the spend on the interactive map. - Vehicle cost tracking: log fuel, servicing, road tax and insurance to see the true cost of running your vehicle.
07Troubleshooting & FAQ
The WhatsApp bot isn't replying. What's wrong?
Make sure your phone has an internet connection. Open the Connect Account tab in the portal and check that the status shows Connected. If the session has dropped, click Reconnect or scan the QR code again.
Can MyPeribadi read my private messages?
No. The system only picks up messages in your own self-chat, or in groups when the message starts with bd. Other messages are never read, stored or processed.
How do I disconnect the bot?
Any time — remove the session from Linked Devices in WhatsApp, or press Disconnect in the MyPeribadi portal.
